CONGRATULATIONS TO BETH JOHNSTON ON HER SELECTION TO THE SCOTLAND SQUAD

Beth started with Gala ASC 2 years ago and swims for the Lothian Racers, which is a fantastic disability specific club. Beth classified as a S10, SB9, SM10 disability swimmer in May 2013.

Through her natural talent, hard work and commitment, along with valuable coaching input this has led to Beth success. Recognised as an S10 swimmer it is now apparent how good Beth is.

She holds the Scottish records for 50M freestyle, 100M freestyle and 200IM.

As a result of this great success, this has led to her selection for the Scottish Para-Swimming Squad.  She will train with the squad in Stirling on a monthly basis and is now training hard for selection to swim for Scotland in Sheffield in November in the British Disability Championships.

Following a great performance in the Scottish National Championships, she has also met the qualification criteria to be invited into the East District Bronze Performance Squad.  This a mainstream squad and a great opportunity for her.

The Club wishes Beth all the luck in the world and keep up the hard work. We are all proud of your success.
